About the Artist
Growing up in the suburban city of Lincoln Park, MI, Zachary spent much of his childhood recreating the art of superhero comic books and mythological fantasies, whose creative storytelling captured his imagination and inspired him to pursue art as a career. Through in-depth study and ongoing self-exploration Zachary's work has evolved to embrace natural elements, vivid color, and abstraction. Romanticism, Impressionism, and ancient cultures are influential in his work. Other notable influences have been Vincent Van Gogh, René Magritte, and contemporary artist Natasha Wescoat.
In 2010 Zachary collaborated with Natasha Wescoat as a contributing author to her Art Candy blog, writing articles on social media and creative development for other artists. Earlier that year his paintings were featured in two group exhibitions at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit (CAID). In 2009 his work was selected for the Arts in the House Project and was displayed in a public collection at the Michigan House of Representatives.
